September 25, 1969 – February 5, 2019
With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Sasenarine “Ken” Jagdeo. A beloved son, father, brother, cousin and friend, Ken Jagdeo left this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the tender age of 49.
Born on September 25, 1969 on the west coast of Windsor Forest in Guyana, Ken was the first-born son of his parents, Jack and Salome Jagdeo.
Ken grew up in Scarborough, Ontario where he attended Cornell Public Elementary School and Cedarbrae Collegiate Institute. As a successful Bank Manager working for TD, Canada Trust, Bank of Montreal and CIBC, Ken was highly regarded as a compassionate and caring leader, helping his clients establish long-term security through the effective management of their financial portfolio.
He had a vivacious personality and always made people around him laugh. He will always be remembered as the cordial, respectful happy guy, with those big, friendly cheeks and that heart-warming smile.
Ken was a true friend to his friends. Always ready and willing at a moment’s notice to help whenever he could. He was always kind and invested in building lasting friendships and creating meaningful memories with those around him. He lived by a simple philosophy: Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others. Simply put, Ken lived life.
Ken loved and adored his children most. They were his world. He was a dedicated father first and foremost. If you were lucky enough to be present when he gazed into Saarah and Noah’s eyes, the pure joy radiating from him would blind you. He embraced each moment he spent with them and wanted nothing more than for his kids to have a wonderful life. He instilled strong values in his children. Values that will serve them well today and in the future.
Ken is survived by his parents Jack and Salome Jagdeo. His two children Saarah and Noah. His former wife Saffiyah Juman Jagdeo. His loving brother and wife Derek and Aruna Jagdeo and his younger sister and her husband, Sharon and Robert Sharma. Uncle Ken will sadly be missed by his niece Jessica and nephew Tyler.
Ken will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving and devoted father who always took care of his children and did the best he could to teach and guide them. A good friend to all, Ken is loved and will be missed by the many lives he has touched.
So long Ken and thank you for gifting us all with your beautiful warm heart. May perpetual light shine upon you and eternal rest in peace.
