The passing of Ruth Eleanor (Tomilson) Wilson of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Todd Wilson occurred on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Windsor Court Retirement Residence. Born on January 10, 1924 in Stanley, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hazen and Josephine (Pringle) Tomilson. Ruth was a school teacher prior to having and raising her family. She helped build and operate a large successful dairy farm with her husband. She was actively engaged in the community, be it with the local Stanley Fair, Stanley Golden Age Club, the United Church and the 4H Club. Ruth won numerous provincial and national awards as a 4H Leader; she was also recognized with two Queen’s Jubilee Medals.

Ruth is survived by her children, Judy Nicholls (John) of Fredericton, NB, Arthur Wilson (Carol) of North Tay, NB, Betty Wilson of Lunenburg, NS, Janet Mosher (Mark) of Halifax, NS, Brian Wilson (Shirley) of North Tay, NB, Robert Wilson (Erinn) of Quadra Island, BC, Peter Wilson (Janine) of Whycogomagh, NS, Donna Wilson (David) of Harvey, NB and Charlotte Swanson (John) of Woodstock, ON; grandchildren, Tom Nicholls (Gineen), Kris Nicholls (Brenda), Katrina Breau (Joe), Nicholas Wilson (Heather), Anthony Wilson, Craig Mosher, Hugh Mosher (Brittany), Heather Davison (Owen), Scott Wilson (Katie), Michael Wilson (Jessica), Adam Wilson, Josh Wilson, Tia Wilson, Bridget Wilson, Robyn Wilson, Hayley Wilson, Darcie Wilson, Sarah Wilson, Tasha Clowater (Steve) and Kathryn Bartlett; great grandchildren, Myles (Brandi) and James Nicholls, Evan Breau, Todd, Faith, Clara, Audrey and Lydia Wilson; great great grandson, Greyson Nicholls; sisters, Marion Adams (Alton) of Toronto, ON, Margaret Caughey and Lois Atherton (Jim) of Ottawa, ON; brother, Kenneth Tomilson of Toronto, ON; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Todd Wilson; sisters, Laura Robichaud, Dallas Morley, Doris Merrill and Elsie Merritt; brothers, Gordon, Arthur and Bob Tomilson.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Delong officiating. Interment will take place in Stirling United Church Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB

at a later date. Family flowers only, remembrances may be made to the North Cardigan United Church, Just Friends Food Bank, Stanley or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
