Obituary of Robert Fraser
Robert Richard “Rick” Fraser, age 57 of Salt Springs, passed away on Thursday, February 14th, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital with his family by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Diane (MacKenzie) Fraser, Salt Springs and the late Robert “Bobby” Fraser.
Rick worked for the last number of years with Heron Pontiac. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and was an avid Montreal Canadians fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with Uncle Martin and his trip to Montreal last November to watch his favourite hockey team. Rick took a keen interest in photography, mostly animals and outdoor scenes.
Besides his mother, Rick will be dearly missed by his wife, Marion (DeGruchy); son Chris, Halifax; step children, Alana Dunlap, Jordan and Justin DeGruchy; 5 grandchildren; and sisters, Kim Stanley (Roddy), Tanner Hill Road; Shelly Peters (Mike), Berwick; Corinne Yorke (Travis), Salt Springs; step father, Pat DeCoste; grandfather, Hector MacKenzie and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Bobby; maternal grandmother, Eleanor MacKenzie and paternal grandparents, Alden and Kay Fraser.
His family will receive visitors on Sunday from 1 to 4pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. There will be no funeral service. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
