Rick was born at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on January 14, 1952 to the late Shirley Margaret Harris and Percey Arnold Bangay. Rick enjoyed working with his hands on most any project and was always willing to lend a hand to those who needed it. He was a hard-working man, a jack of all traits, which included a number of years with various Metropolitan stores throughout Atlantic Canada as well as many years of owning and operating the “Grub-N-Grog” in Sable River. Rick is survived by his Daughters, Tanya Bangay and Laura (James) Bartlett of Yarmouth; Step daughter Tia (Damien) Tingley of Shelburne; Grandson Elijah Wood and Granddaughter Aliyah Child; Brothers Bruce Bangay, Yarmouth and Jack Bangay, Vancouver, BC. He was predeceased by his brother Roy (Barbara) Bangay, Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Interment will be done at a later date. There will be no visitation or funeral as per the family’s request. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
