PJ Peter Jonathan Ghey April 24 1998 February 16 2019 (age 20)

Ghey, Peter Jonathan. “PJ”
PJ’s fight with cancer has been intensely emotional and physically draining. PJ was loved deeply by his mother Ruth, father Jon and devoted sisters; Katie, Casey and Sarah. He was surrounded by the love and prayers of his cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, church family and friends throughout his illness.
PJ attended St. Anne’s Elementary School, Rhema Christian School, Holy Cross Secondary School and Fleming College. He loved lifeguarding at Joy Bible Camp and the YMCA. PJ treasured his role on the worship team at Sherbrooke Heights Alliance Church as keyboardist. And WOW could he sing and play guitar!
God loves us and we know that. We know that God loved PJ and there is purpose in his journey. Our hearts cry as we share that PJ died on Saturday, February 16th, 2019 at the age of 20. He died peacefully at home with all of his family present. We don’t understand why PJ suffered, but we understand why we need God and why we cling to God’s love. God has been by our side even in our “Why?!”
A remembrance service will be held in the summer to grieve together as family, friends and a community. In memory of PJ, donations to Sherbrooke Heights Alliance Church would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made on PJ’s Facebook Page or at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com.
