Peter Josef Takken, of Cargill, passed away on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound. He was 90.
Loving father of Ken of London, Pat (Lisa) of Eganville, Cindy (Tony) Hnatiuk of Westlock, AB, John (Judy) of Brule, AB, Ray (Maryanne) of Glammis, Annette (Ron Schmidt) of Formosa and Linda of Owen Sound. Cherished Opa of fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his wife Johanna (nee Van Diepen), two brothers, six sisters and parents Cornelis and Trijntje (nee Noordstrand) Takken.
Peter’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday at the Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton (1106 Yonge St. S). Parish prayers will be held at 3:45 p.m. followed by Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, Cargill. Rev. Luc Payette officiating.
Spring interment in Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Chepstow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Building Fund or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family. Cards available at the funeral home.
