Ollie passed away peacefully, on February 12, 2019 at Trillium Mississauga Hospital in her 97th year. Ollie was a remarkable spirit who lived a busy and energetic life, touching many lives. She was predeceased by her husband Alan and cherished friend George Switzer. Loving mother of Kent (Wendy), Margot (Sebastiano) and Craig (Gail}. Proud and loved grandmother of Rob (Jesika), Cheryl (Ian), Elise (Sean), Kelsey (Josh), Erin (Luke), Mitchell and Liam and special great-grandmother of Kasey, Marley, Evangeline, Kelela, Erica, Gwyneth and Evelyn. Dear sister of Peggy (Val) Simmons, predeceased by brother James Cooper and sister Doris Keyes and Auntie Ollie to numerous nephew and nieces. We cherish the legacy of energy and passion of our bridge player, gardener, wordsmith, and matriarch, whose warmth touched us all. Ollie worked tirelessly with several community organizations and received the Etobicoke Volunteer of the Year Award 1992. Special thanks to Trillium Hospital for their loving care and to the staff at Tapestry retirement residence for their tremendous support throughout her 7 years there. Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St W. (between Kipling and Islington) on Feb. 15 from 6 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb.16 at 2pm at St. James United Church, 400 Burnhamthorpe Rd. in Etobicoke with reception to follow. For those who wish, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the CNIB.
