Obituary of Norma Lewis
(nee Robinson)
July 18, 1929 – February 3, 2019
Beloved wife of the late John Lewis. Loving mother of Douglas (Trish), Ronald (Andrée) and Carol (Warren) Alder. Cherished grandmother to Shane (Tara), Amanda (Jonathan), Bobby, Brennan (Lindsay), Anthony and Brianna. Loving sister of the late Eleanor (the late George), the late Dan (Joyce), June (the late Orville), Jim (Debbie), the late Ruth (the late Howard), Joan (Ron), the late Johnny and the late Larry (Marilyn).
Norma worked as a registered nurse until 1991 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. She then kept busy with her volunteering and involvement in different organizations. She was active in the U.C.W. and catering committee at Trinity Church. She also belonged to the Bowmanville Lioness Club and Eastern Star. As well, she volunteered with Lifeline, Meals on Wheels and the Lakeridge Health Bowmanville Gift and Coffee shop. She was passionate about her crafts and gardens and loved to travel. Thank you to the staff at Seasons Retirement Home for their care and compassion over the last four years. As well, thank you to Dr. Irish, Dr. Hollander and the nursing staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville for their excellent care during this time.
Visitation will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 116 Church St. Bowmanville, on Saturday March 2, from 12:30 – 1: 30 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1: 30 pm. Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Memorial donations may be made to the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation.
