Obituary of Morris McLachlan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dad Morris McLachlan on Monday, February 11, 2019 at his home in North Bay. He was 90 years old. Morris leaves behind his devoted wife Joan Van Fleet and his children, Scott, Margaret, Jennifer, David (Buddy) and Marshall. He was predeceased by his eldest son Jimmy (Robert). Morris leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Dad was employed as a carman for the CPR for many years and that fueled his passion for the railroad. He was also a big fan of hockey, never missing an opportunity to take in a game. Dad always believed in helping others by supporting both local and national charities.
But Dad’s true passion was reserved for his family; he lived for big family gatherings, enjoying every moment spent being surrounded by loved ones. His hearty laugh was contagious and his wit was always on point. He thoroughly enjoyed wearing silly hats to entertain his kids and grandkids.
Visitation will take place at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 12pm to 2pm, followed by a service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
A quote from Dad… “A Thank You will carry you a long way.” Thank you, Dad for always being there for all of us and may you stand tall today and forever. We love you.
