Monique Marie Bekesy
After a long, courageous battle, Monique passed away at Shalom Manor on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, in her 70th year surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Alex for 47 years. Loved mother of Lorraine Hudd (Mackenzie) and Matthew Bekesy. Cherished grandmother of Hannah, Mia and Liam. Dear daughter of Madeleine and the late Gerard Bergeron. Sister of Gilles Bergeron (Anne), Michelle Byrne (Francis), Nicole Lajoie (Luc), Denise Bergeron (Gerry), Diane Bergeron (Robert) and Claire Bergeron (the late Bill). Monique will be remembered for being “larger than life”. She was passionate about travelling, gardening, reading and most of all being with family and friends. Thank you to all of the staff at Shalom Manor for their exceptional care and support over the past four years. To a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend – our lives will never be the same without you. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday, February 15, 2019, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., where the Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial contributions to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Society of Canada (www.pspsocietycanada.ca/) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
