Obituary of Louis Antal
Louis John Antal passed away peacefully February 9, 2019 with family by his side. Louis immigrated to Canada in 1957 and worked primarily in the Steel industry with 33 of these years at IPSCO. Upon retiring he took on his next career and one of his more fulfilling roles as a consultant for the North American steel industry, that included Selkirk MB, Barrie, ON, Kingston, ON, Mobil AL, and his home city, Regina SK. Louis was born in Hadikfalva, Romania in May of 1939 to loving parents Mihaly and Balbina Antal. He was predeceased by his parents; brother Joe Antal; sister Elsie Paul; and In-laws, Art and Marjorie Kachuik and Helen Jacobson. He is loving remembered by his loving wife Kathleen Antal; their son Michael (Sharon), grandchildren, Chris (Cheryl), Meghan (Dan), Ryan (Lindsay), one great grandson Owen; their daughter Veronica (Thomas) Phinny, grandchildren Miranda and Fiona; his sister, Regina Szentes; brothers-in-law Jerry Paul Sr. and Gordon Jacobson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He had a full life and enjoyed farming, travel to foreign lands, building homes with relatives, making strangers smile and laugh, but most of all spending time with family. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Cecelia R.C. Parish, 5020 – 7th Ave., Regina, SK, with Fr. John Weckend as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louis may be made to a charity of your choice.
