Obituary of Lonny Welsh
Welsh, Lonny James – of RR1 Ridgetown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday February 26, 2019, age 45. Born in Chatham, Ontario to parents Andrew (Noreen) Welsh and Darlene (Roy) Smyth.
Lonny was married to the love of his life Heather (nee Hogg) for 26 years.
Loving father to Jordyn Welsh of Chatham and Jessica Welsh (Shaun Vosbourgh) of Glencoe.
Grandfather to Bowser.
Son-in-law of Barry and Brenda Hogg of Blenheim.
Brother to Cheryl Smyth (Wayne Green) of Shrewsbury, Tammy Welsh (Roger Patterson) of Blenheim, Terry (Mike) Gardiner of Blenheim, and Marty (Kristen) Simpson of Point Edward.
Uncle to Charles Stover, Cassandra (Justin) Pennings*, Kyle Gardiner (Tishon Jno-Baptiste), Ryan “Bowdie” Gardiner, Alex “Chirpy” Gardiner, Jimmy Simpson, and Alexander Simpson.
Lonny found his second family at Brooke Design and Fabrication in Blenheim where he worked for over 20 years. In his spare time, he was often found “Lonnifying” anything which needed fixing or modifying – NOTHING was left un-Lonnified.
Memorial visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, on Sunday March 3, 2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Lonny’s life will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Lonny may be made to the Heaven’s Wildlife Rescue Rehabilitation and Education Centre or the London Health Sciences Foundation – Oncology.
