Linda Marie Collier
COLLIER, LINDA MARIE- 68, Hilden. It is with great sadness that the family of Linda (Dauphney) Collier announces her passing at the QEII – V.G. in Halifax on Wednesday, February 20th, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Germain Collier, and daughter of the late David and Florence Theresa (Corbett) Dauphney. Linda was born in New Waterford, N.S. on July 6 th, 1950. She grew up in Rear Little River, Cape Breton. She worked at Piper’s Restaurant where she developed a reputation as a fantastic cook. Linda, Gerry and family would later move to Truro where they lived until her passing. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Linda exemplified kindness and benevolence, putting a smile on the face of everyone she encountered. Family was an important piece of her life and Linda spoke fondly and with pride of her children and grandchildren. She was proud to talk about their successes, engage in their life events and support them in any way she could. Linda enjoyed playing bingo, darts, card games, and her favorite flower was a carnation. She was loved by many and adored by everyone. Linda will be truly missed by many. God needed an angel in heaven, but she will always be our sunshine. She is survived by her husband, Germain Collier; her children, Troy (Dolena), Phonse and Hugh (Kathy) Collier; grandchildren, Josh, Samantha (Matt), Cheyenne, Jordan (Tasha), Nicole (Chandler), Emma, Faith, Dillan Collier and Natasha (Jordan) Matthews; her siblings, Diane (David), David (Paula), Blaine, Trevor, Leeanna (Paul), Sheldon (Maxine), Frankie, Glenn (Janet), Ross (Liz), and Donnie (Melody); and her dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, David and Florence Theresa Dauphney as well as her brother, Thomas Dauphney. A visitation will take place on Friday March 1st, 2019 from 7pm to 9p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 starting at 11a.m. in the St. Ann’s Bay United Church in Englishtown.
