Leonard Joseph Wood
1948-2019
It is with sadness that we announce the
sudden passing of Leonard Joseph Wood,
70, at his home in Springhill on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.
Leonard was born in Weymouth, NS, on December 12, 1948.
Leonard was a hard and dedicated
worker. He enjoyed working with his hands and was an avid
woodworker. There wasn’t much Leonard couldn’t do, despite only having
had one leg. He was a country music fan and loved to
dance. Kind, and always ready to lend a hand, he will be
dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Leonard will be sadly missed by his
spouse of twelve years, Christina Post, Springhill; five children,
Peggy (John), Jenny (Billy), Lenny, Wanda, and Joseph; thirteen
grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three step-children, Jack,
Jay, and Sheldon; eight step-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol
(Raymond) Sauliner and Holly (Chester) Muise; one brother, Donny
(Cathy) Jubin, as well as several nieces and nephews and a special
cousin, Marguerita.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361). Honouring
Leonard’s wishes, there is to be no funeral service at this
time. A time for family and friends to visit and
share memories will be held at the funeral home from 2-4 pm on
Saturday, February 9, 2019. Following the visitation,
Leonard’s remains will be cremated and a celebration of his life will
be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Leonard may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
