Kathryn Ann Colburne
Colburne, Kathryn Ann, Dartmouth – It is with heavy hearts that the family announces Kathy’s peaceful passing at home with her loving partner in life by her side on Friday, January 4, 2019 at age 56 years after a valiant battle with cancer. Beginning life in Moncton, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Norma Colburne (Pope), Truro. Kathryn grew up in Moncton, Campbellton and Truro and lived in the Dartmouth /Halifax area for over the past 30+ years. She worked at GEM Healthcare (Glades Lodge / The Admiral) long term care facilities for 30 years. Kathy is survived by her partner of 17 years, Charles Kenney (Halifax/Dartmouth); brother, Ian (Donna), Truro; sister, Alexis (Jim) Walton, Sonoma, CA; uncle, Ken Colburne, Moncton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Kathy loved people – both young and old alike, family get-togethers, travelling, cooking, animals, photography, painting, architecture, spending time at “the cabin”, four wheeling and the great outdoors in general, as well as many other activities. Special thanks to Tammy of the VON for her extraordinary help during Kathy’s final days. A Memorial Service will be held in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro on Saturday, January 12th at 2pm with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope for Wildlife (5909 Highway 207, Seaforth, N.S. B0J 1N0).
