June Milligan – Age 83, East New Annan, Nova Scotia
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother on February 10, 2019 at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche, NS. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late William and Amanda (Williams) Holmes. She was a kind and caring person who had a flair for life and a grand sense of humour. In her earlier years she was involved with the Pond Playhouse, Theatre Arts Guild and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Halifax where she met her wonderful friends Lindsay and Colin May, who became part of the family. She moved to New Annan over 30 years ago and was always active in the community including playing the organ for Sunday morning worship and enjoying a good game of Bridge but her greatest joy was spending time with her ‘Grands’. She is survived by her daughters, Beth Tucker and Lynne Michieli; son, James Milligan; grandchildren, Allisan, John, David, Emily, William, Katie, Chalena, Angela, Adam and brother, James Holmes. She was predeceased by her husband James “Jim” Milligan; her brother, William “Bill” Holmes; great grandson, Matthew. The family would like to thank Dr. Glasgow and the staff at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital for all the wonderful care they provided. A funeral service will be held at Coulter’s Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Dr, Tatamagouche, NS on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Interment will be at a later date in Tatamagouche Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
