Julie Teresa Altenburg, age 87 of Stratford, passed away peacefully at St Marys Memorial Hospital on February 18, 2019. Born in Holland, daughter of the late Jan and Catharina Koomen.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Altenburg who predeceased her June 12, 2015. Loving mother of John (Donene), Jikky Middleton (Mike Armstrong), Gerry (Nancy), Paul (Barb) and Jeff (Michaela). Oma of Michael (Izabella), Sarah (Joey), Kelly (James), Casey (Janelle), Thys, Marijke (Matt), Jacob (Renee), Skye (Ryan), Hailey, Koeman, Charles, Morgan, Willem and Janek. Great Oma of Hanna, Kiley, Adelaide, Maeve and Noah. Also survived by sister-in-law Annie Kooman, brother-in-law Simon Kaptyn and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brothers and sisters Willem Kooman, Arie Kooman (Martha), Gre Bosch (Hank), Riena Kaptyn, Annie Grooteman (Maus) and Mrie Altenburg (Andries). Julie was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church, Stratford.
Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, February 21, from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. A reception will be held in the funeral home reception centre following the interment at Avondale Cemetery.
