Jose is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Caridad Ascano Pelayo, along with his three children; Joseph (Fellie), Valentina (Vener), and Jocelyn; Five grandchildren; Joemari (Richelle), Billy (Lailanie), Jason (Yui), Kobe and Kylan; Nine grandchildren; Alexzandrah, Joe Marixx, Athena Rexxi, Mikheela, Sofia Marie, Princess Joelle, Benjamin, Lauryn and Joe.
He was a simple and humbled man, who loved to fish, listen to loud music, watch movies and spend time with his loved ones. Tatay, as he is known to everyone, was the backbone of his family. He was our role model. He was selfless, kind, generous and would not hesitate to give you the shirt off his back. He was a loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was very easy going and even easier to talk to.
As he grew older, he kept up with the latest technology, but still relied on his trustee VHS recorder. He loved to tinker with automobiles and had an innate ability to fix all electronic and household devices
Although he never liked to be the center of attention, we will continue to honour and remember the joy and happiness you brought into all of our lives. We have so many wonderful memories of Tatay. He is our Hero, protector and the values he instilled in all of us will carry us through this difficult time. We love you so much, Tatay!
Lamay/Vigil Prayers will be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Lamay will commence at 6:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m. Rev. Pastor Eduardo Capillar officiating.
