John passed away quietly on January 30, 2019 at the age 96 years. He was born in 1922 near Bethune SK, the 2nd of 5 children of Donald and Eva Campbell. John joined the Air Force during WWII, obtained an Electrical Engineering degree at the U of S, and had a 35 year career at SaskPower. Over the years John was involved in a number of community groups including: the Legion Branch 001, RCAF Association, Kiwanis Club, Lakeview United Church, Lawn Bowling Club, Tartan Curling Club, and Senior’s Cycle Club. Predeceased by his wife Pearl of 61 years and siblings Betty Olynik, Gwen Brierley, and Ken Campbell. John will be sadly missed by his children Charles (Lisa), Doug, Hugh (Lenny), and Deanna; grandchildren Alaysha, Devrim, and Ryan; brother Don (Kay) of Regina; brother-in-law Carol Nordstrom of Abbottsford, BC; sister-in-law Grace of Kelowna, BC; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Units 3-5 and 3-6 for their compassionate care of John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB or another charity of your choice. A memorial service will be planned for later this year.
