John Joseph Cotter Mealey

Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.
Beloved and devoted husband of Leona (Stapleton) Mealey. Loving father of Denise, Deanne, Dennis and Jack. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Jessie, David, Nicholas, Olivia, Shelaine, Johnny and great-grandchildren Morgan and Rowen. Sadly missed by many friends and relatives.
Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland John proudly served as a miner at INCO for 31 years. He was a man of great faith, serving as the first lector of Our Lady of Lourdes School and Chapel in his youth and then as a devoted member of St. Kevin’s Parish for 50 years. John was an avid gardener and he enjoyed golf. His second home was on Manitoulin Island for 25 years. Special thanks to Dr. Roch, P.S.W. Mary and all the staff at HSN 6 South, 7 and 8 North for all their care and compassion.
