SPINNEY, Joan Agnes (Vincent)
Peacefully on February 03, 2019, Joan passed away at the Saint Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital, born December 10, 1921.
She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Harriette; husband Carroll; son Alan; and her daughter Heather (Siggers).
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her son Neil and her son-in-law John; grandchildren Ashley (Adam), Calee, Christopher (Sunday), Jennifer (Jon), Johnny (Leah), Olivia (Cole); great grandchildren Austin, Caiden, John, Liam, Rachel and Revan; nieces June, Ethyl, Linda and friends.
Joan grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and married Carroll who was a soldier in the RCAF, WWII. Joan and her husband were posted in Fort Nelson, B.C. and Germany for a few years before settling down and raising three children in Hilden, Nova Scotia. For many years after her husband’s retirement they ran a chinchilla fur farm and honeybees. After her husband’s death she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law for 25 years and helped raise the grandchildren. Living with her daughter she continued to move to many areas of Nova Scotia, Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta meeting many friends from many congregations. Joan had a strong relationship with her creator (Jehovah) and was known to be active in the ministry work, while in her late 80’s.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 1:30 PM at the Woodvale Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses 6212-82 Avenue NW Edmonton, AB.
