Jean Deslandes
In loving memory of Mr. Jean Deslandes who passed away at Northview Nursing Home, Englehart, on Sunday, February 03, 2019 at 6:15pm in the evening at the age of 69 years and 3 months.
Jean Joseph Deslandes was born on October 24, 1949 at home in Heaslip Twp. to the late Daniel Deslandes and Laurette (Roberge). Jean was delivered by Dr. John Higgins at their home. Jean was later diagnosed with down Syndrome and was not expected to live pass the age of 10 to 12 years old. He was well loved and taken care by his parents until 1987 when he got ill. After a few weeks in the hospital, he was admitted to the Northview Nursing Home in Englehart, where he resided there for 37 years.
Pre-deceased by his parents Daniel Deslandes in 1994 and Laurette (Roberge) in 1992, his older brother Léo Paul Deslandes in 2015, his older sister Denise (Jean-Marie Grimerd) in 2011 and also by his nephew Philippe Miller at 2 years old in 1986.
He is survived by brother André Deslandes (Toronto), and 2 sisters Angela Denomme (Henri) from Chemlsford and Mariette Paiement (Ambroise deceased) from Earlton
The family of the late Mr. Jean Deslandes will receive friends at the St. Jean Baptiste Parish Hall, Earlton, Friday, February 8, from 2-4 – 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church on Saturday, Saturday February 9, 2019 at 11:00 am. Father Germain Turcotte officiating. In memory contributions to Northview Nursing Home Activity Fund will be greatly appreciated. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.mcdonaldfuneralhome.ca.
