Jane “Jenny” Burke
Glace Bay
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jane ‘Jenny” Burke, age 97 on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the CBRH, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Edith (Jeans) Mullins.
Jenny was a member of St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay. She was a well liked, easy going and kind lady who loved her family dearly.
Jenny is survived by one daughter, Leona Landru, two sons, David (Patricia), John (Margaret), two grandsons, Ryan, David (Sharlene), one granddaughter, Jessica (Daniel), two great grandchildren, Logan, Lilly, her sister, Carmel and several nieces and nephews.
Jenny was predeceased by her husband Johnnie Burke in 1978, four sisters, Agatha, Edna, Lena, Dorothy and three brothers, Larry, Fred and Edward.
Cremation has taken place. A chapel service will be held at a later date in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay followed by interment in St. Anne’s Cemetery with her husband.
Memorial donations may be made to palliative care. The family express a sincere thank you to Palliative Care, CBRH, Sydney and Harbourstone Enhanced Care for the compassion shown to our family.
