Obituary of JAMES SYLVESTER
JAMES SHERMAN SYLVESTER
December 15, 1949 – January 29, 2019
With very saddened hearts we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather & big brother. On January 29, 2019 Jim Sylvester passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 69.
Jim will be sadly missed by family, wife Joan, daughter Claresa, sons Cliff (Michelle), Clayton, and Michael. Grandchildren Tyson, Sarah, Abagail and Cameron, Brother Brett (Cindy), Sisters Gloria, Eunice and Barbara along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
Jim was predeceased by his mother Marie, father Stan, brother Ross and sister Dorothy.
Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg where he worked and met his wife (Joan). They moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan in the late 70’s where Jim worked with Sunshine uniform. All three children were born there prior to returning to Winnipeg in 1981 where they continued to reside. In the mid 80’s Jim started working for Quintex Services Ltd. He loved being a part of Quintex and loved all his colleagues in which he spent 30 plus years prior to retirement in 2017.
Jim was always active with his children growing up and then with his grandchildren when they arrived. Jim has always been active in the community and volunteering in numerous clubs over the years. Jim was an active member of the K40 club and long time member of the Legion where he served two years as President. Jim had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care Jim received in his final days.
