MUCKLOW, James Henry
In loving memory of James Henry Mucklow (Jim), 86, who passed away on Monday, February 11th, 2019, peacefully in Sudbury. Born in Calgary in 1932, he was raised in the village of Dunbarton (now Pickering) and lived most of his life in Kirkland Lake, later retiring to Sudbury. Jim loved to explore nature and was a lifelong learner of science. Over the years, Jim enjoyed hiking the Bruce Trail, birdwatching for the National Geographic, canoeing in Esker Lakes Provincial Park and Killarney, and tracing his family tree. Music was his joy, and he sang and played in many choirs and bands in Kirkland Lake and Sudbury.
Jim was predeceased by his parents James and Irene Mucklow and his sister Lois Irene White. He is survived by his wife Ines Mucklow, his children James (Cindy), Nancy (Shane), Peter (Judy), and Laura (Tony) and his grandchildren Gillian, Isaac, Samuel, Jack, Justin, and Erin.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Garson on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at 10am, followed by a gathering in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Northern Cancer Foundation or the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Jim’s memory. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
