A wife, a mother, a grandmother
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Joly) Champagne at TDH Hospice in the early morning hours of Feb 16th 2019 surrounded by family. She was 80 years old. Jackie was born June 15th 1938, the 1st of 6 Children in Timmins. She married the love of her life Aimé Champagne on Feb 11th, 1956. They just celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary. She is survived by her 5 children; Denis (Beverly) Champagne, Sue (Harry) Boychuk, Thérèse (Shane) Longyear, Richard (Linda) Champagne, Andre (Chantelle) Champagne. And her grandchildren Carole (Shawn), Sylvie (Hans), Jason, Chantale (Jamie), Mark (Annie), Simon, Amy (Shawn), Alain (Maria), Eric (Jessica), David (Angela), Mandy (Richard), Chelsey (David). She also had 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren. Survived by her sister Jeanine (Robert) Ethier, Hélène D’Amour and Claudette Boulanger; and family friend Paul Chartrand who was like a son. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Jeanne Joly; her siblings Linda Lavallée and Wayne Bertrand. She had a beautiful soul, she brought a smile and listening ear to anyone in need. She was well known for her sewing, cooking and hand knitted items, and upholstery repairs. Special Thank you to all the Emergency/Hospice staff and Dr. Hopkins.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21 from 1-2pm at Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home (705-268-4488) Donations made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
