Irene McAdam
1930-2019
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Irene McAdam,
announces her passing which occurred on Monday, February 4, 2019 at
the St. John St. Stephen Home. Born on September 9, 1930 in
Halifax, NS, she was a daughter of the late Harry Alexander Rexton
McCoubrey and Carrie Sabina McCoubrey (Lambert).
Irene had a wonderful time in her career at the Saint John
Regional Hospital, delivering smiles and hard work to the staff and
patients as she carried out the duties of the day. Mom was passionate
about hockey and would often watch the early game on the east coast,
the late game on the west coast, grab a few hours sleep and head into
work happy on the outcomes or beside herself if her heros were
maligned. In all cases, her beloved dogs would be at her side. She
will always be known as one who lent a hand to those in need without
reservation.
Irene will be dearly remembered by her children: Faye McAdam,
Dawn Goff and Garth McAdam, grandchildren, Lisa, Justin, Katlyn,
Thomas, Zachary, Tisha, Troy, Shawn, Jessica and Carly. Mom joins her
son Jeffrey in heaven.
Besides her parents, Irene was predeceased by her brothers
Rex, Allison, Harry and Richard and sisters Ruth, Marjorie and
Audrey.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row,
Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take
place on Friday, February 8 from 12:30-1:45 PM at which time the
service will take place at 2PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home
Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill
