Irene MacEachern
1926-2019
It is with great sadness that we
announce the gentle passing of Irene Foster (McSavaney)
MacEachern, on January 31, 2019 at Gables Lodge in
Amherst N.S., the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great
grandmother.
Irene was born on December 4,
1926, in Springhill N.S. to the late Emma and Hugh McSavaney. At a
young age, Irene, decided that her future would consist of caring for
others in her community. Thus, she graduated from the Aberdeen School
of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1946. In 1950, Irene agreed to
share her future life with Jack MacEachern. The union of these two
lasted more than 68 years and produced a wonderful family. Following
many happy years in North Sydney, Irene and Jack moved to Tampa
Florida. Two years later, a third transfer led them to New Hampshire
where they remained until Jack’s retirement in 1992. In retirement,
Jack and Irene spent many wonderful summers at the cottage in Port
Howe, N.S. with their loving family and
friends.
Irene is survived by husband
Jack, sons Bruce (Cathy), Brad (Anne) and daughters Jane and Alison,
grandchildren Amanda (Paul), Angela (Darren), Justin, Patrick, Lauren
and great grandson Dawson. As well as Irene’s sister Helen
Murray.
Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by brothers Charlie, Herb, and Harry, sisters Margaret,
Mary and Jean. Also her mother in law Myrtle MacEachern. Irene will be
dearly missed by family, friends and those who knew her. We were
blessed as she made our lives so much
better.
The family would like to give
a special thank you to Cheryl Smith and the team at Gables Lodge for
providing such a comfortable and loving environment for Irene.

Irene F MacEachern
She could feel the breeze as she skated around
On the wings of a snow white dove.
Her movements were graceful, the same as her life
That was filled with her undying love.
Now the music is over, our lives will go on
With something we all can be sure
We know in our hearts, our dear one lives on
And is waiting for us at the door.
