Gordon Bertil Hopkins, of RR#3 Hanover, passed away at the Hanover and District Hospital, on Monday, February 11th, 2019 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Betty (nee Gilkinson) for 60 years. Loving father of Leroy Hopkins and his partner Sarah Demone, Bradley Hopkins and his partner Margaret Cronyn, Joyce Hopkins, Janette and her husband Paul Kaufman, Linda and her husband Grant Cornelius, Herb Hopkins and his wife Lisa, Greg Hopkins and his partner Annette Moore, and Vern Hopkins and his wife Monique. Cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Brother-in-law of Paul Gilkinson and his wife Diane, Mary Gilkinson, and Marianne Gilkinson. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Nelda (nee Hestler) Hopkins, and his sister Hazel Wilson (the late Bud Wilson).
Visitation:
Friends may call at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Friday, February 15th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 p.m.
Celebration of Life::
A funeral service celebrating Gordon’s life will be held at the Durham Community Centre, 451 Saddler Street West, Durham on Saturday, February 16th at 2 p.m., with visitation being held prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. Spring interment at Durham Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
