Obituary of Hein Van Luik
VanLuik, Hein –
April 27, 1932 Steenwijk -The Netherlands – February 13, 2019 Grimsby – Ontario
On Wednesday Feb 13, 2019 the LORD, at his appointed hour and in the full assurance of our faith, suddenly called home Hein VanLuik into His eternal glory in his 87th year.
Hein was born in Steenwijk, the Netherlands where he worked with his father in the family bakery. Following his sweetheart Diane Mans he immigrated to Canada and was married July 20, 1957, living in Fenwick (1957) Smithville (1960) and finally settled and raised his family in Beamsville. After retiring moved to Grimsby, Ontario. Hein first worked for Star Cleaners and later became an Ontario Provincial Police officer, from where he retired in 1993. Hein’s first wife Diane passed away from Leukemia in 2003. He was blessed again when he met Ria Buist (Bakker) and they were married in September 29, 2006. Hein and Ria had a wonderful life enjoying time with their many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Hein leaves behind his beloved wife Ria, and his children Matthew and Gertie, Lorraine (Neil) 4 children Nick and Monica, Henry (Marielle) 4 children, Rob (Kerri) 2 children, Joanne (Ben) 3 children, Danielle (Jesse) 3 children, Darren, Adrian, Andrew (Lauren) John and Trudy, LeeAnna (Garett) 5 children, Brian (Kayla) 4 children, Heidi (Mark) 2 children, Matt (Nynke) 3 children, Jody Jean and Gerald Terpstra, Diane (Rob) 4 children, Teresa (Ken) 1 child, Ralph (Brittany) 2 children, Steven (Alyssa) 3 children, LizAnn (Wes) 3 children, Nick, Lucia (Kevin) Bert and Geraldine, Nicholas (Anna Lynn), Gavin, Brett, Natalie Elnita and Gary Post, Petrina (Harm) 6 children, Adina (Dennis) 6 children, Rick, Alissa (Aaron) 3 children, Jonathan (Kim), Aaron Lloyd and Joanna, Rachelle, Hein, Laurissa, Courtney, his stepchildren Gerlinda and Steve Beintema, Sarah (Colin…), 2 children, Fred, Marc (Hannah) Debbie and Al Bethlehem, Will (Katie) 4 children, Rebecca (Shaun) 4 children, Shawna, Jessica (Ian), Allan (Emily), Eric (Laurisa), Darrin Ruth and Tony Linde, Michelle (Chris) 3 children, Joel (Annemarie) 3 children, Trevor (Alaina), Scott, April (Hendrik) 1 child, Todd Jeff and Deanna Buist, Jeremy, David, Zachary Bill and Kate Buist, Michael (Harmony), Joshua, Kristyn Esther and Gord VanEgmond, Jodi (Mark), Justin, Rachel Dave and Marlaine Buist, Kelsey, Nathan. His Sister Jo and Wubbo Uil, Brother-in- law Arie and Immy Mans in the Netherlands, Bert and Tina Mans, Henny Mans, and other extended family. We are comforted that he is with the Lord.
Visitations will be at Covenant Canadian Reformed Church in Grassie, 480 Woolverton Road, Grimsby, Ontario, on Monday Feb. 18, 2019 from 1-3pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service on Tuesday Feb 19,2019 @10:00am in Grassie Church, internment following. In lieu of flowers a donation would be greatly appreciated to Anchor Association for the handicapped.
