Obituary of Glen Nelson
NELSON, Glen Roger
Glen Roger Nelson passed peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 2:20 p.m. Predeceased by parents Dorothy Irene Nelson and Roy Eugene Nelson, Glen is survived by daughters Alexis (Curtis Kerr) and Katie Rae (Casey Sayles). He was enthusiastically awaiting the birth of his first grandchild, Baby Nelson-Kerr. Glen will always be remembered as a super dad and a loving father to his daughters and to their friends, who he called his adopted daughters. He was an amazing friend and entertainer to all who knew him. Whether it was playing, coaching, or refereeing, his basketball legacy will live on. The courage Glen displayed over the last part of his life, superseded anything he did as a player. His attitude and positive outlook was more impressive than anything he did on the court. Glen was special and he made everyone around him better. After a courageous long-fought battle, he is now pain-free and running up and down the “court in the clouds”. Glen’s positive infectious energy and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all. Celebration of Life will take place at the University of Regina, Education Auditorium, 3737 Wascana Parkway, Regina, SK on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception will follow in The Owl Multipurpose Room. The family request that guests dress casually and consider wearing a favourite team jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Steps Wellness Centre, 2339 2nd Avenue, Regina, SK S4R 1A5, www.fswcregina.ca.
