George
Freeman Barton – age 86, of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away on
Monday, February 11, 2019, at home. Born in Digby, he was a son of the
late Seymour and Annie (Jackson) Barton. He had been employed at
Scotian Gold for several years before going to work at Oxford Frozen
Foods (Hillaton plant). He enjoyed watching baseball from his recliner
and talking with his grandchildren. He is survived by brother, Tom
Barton; daughters, Mary Mintis; Lesley (Mark) Davie; Alison Mintis
(Isaiah); Jacquine Johnson; Wendy (Pete) Brinton; Vickie (Bob) Brown;
Marilyn (Fred) Bennett; sons, Ron (Marie) Moses; Mike (Heather)
Johnson; Chris (Michelle) Johnson; Duane Mintis; several grandchildren
and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by son, Mike Tynes; sister, Helen Hill; brother, Gerald.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral
service, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
