It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of George “Beefy” Milton Mackay on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Survived by his wife Marilyn (Mare) Nee McParland. Cherished father of Corey and partner Ian, David and wife Susan, Scott and wife Heather, and Stuart and partner William. Loving grandfather (Grandpa K), David, Evan, Adam (Predeceased), Olivia, Dahnja, Matthew, Meghan, Colin and great grandchildren, Damien, Lucius, Jaxyn, Myles. Survived by sister Patricia, Maureen and Heather (Predeceased). Born and raised in Sudbury, he was retired from the Sudbury Regional Police, he remained active in the police retirees association, as well as serving on the Police association of Ontario. He belonged to City Of Lakes Masonic Lodge, life member of the Caruso Club. Beefy was an avid sportsmen and coach, belonging to several leagues. He was also an avid outdoors man and loved spending time at his camp on Trout Lake.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at ICU and Cardiac Unit at Health Sciences North 5th Floor North for their wonderful care.
At Beefy’s request there will be no public visitation or service.
Cremation at Sudbury Park Lawn Crematorium.
Arrangements entrusted to Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
