Obituary of Gary Mastrangelo
Gary Kenneth Mastrangelo, late of rural Southey, SK, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the age of 71. Gary was born January 1, 1948 in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) ON. His early years were spent moving frequently for his father’s job as a dredge boat captain. Gary moved eventually to Thompson, MB where he worked for 30 years for the mine company INCO (Vale mining). Here he met his wife Kathy in 1993 and they were married January 2, 1999. After retiring from INCO in March of 1999, they moved to Regina and then to their current acreage. He had a great love of the outdoors, camping, fishing and doing wood working. He loved helping his friends and family whenever he could. He will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his parents Val and Ollie; his brother Calvin; and his grandson Jevon. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kathy; son Denny of Thompson, MB; son Scott of Winnipeg, MB; daughter Leanne (Jeff) Culig of Calgary, AB; mother of his children Donna Worth; stepdaughter Crystal Berg (Joe) of Hamilton, ON; stepson James of Winnipeg, MB; stepson Craig of Regina, SK; stepdaughter Amanda (Nate) Ede of Regina, SK; five grandchildren, Trishla (Mark), Lance, Carlin, Katelyn and Nicholas; six step-grandchildren, Angelica, Shandi, Jenova, Kaleb, Damian and Gabriel; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Peyton; sister Carol (Len) Sass of Regina, SK; sister Arlene (Robb) Thiessen of Meadow Lake, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Gary’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gary’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
