JONES, GARNET ELMER

It is with sadness that the family of Garnet Elmer Jones of Burtts Corner announces his passing at Hospice House, Fredericton on Monday, February 11, 2019.
Garnet was born in Upper Keswick, NB, on April 16, 1937, son of Kathleen (Brewer) and Elmer Jones.

Garnet is survived by Mary (Estey), his wife of 58 years, son, Richard (Nancy), grandsons Greg (Tayte) and Braden (Lori), and daughter Heather.
Garnet is also survived by his sister Rowena Scott and his brother Ivan (Jean) Jones as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Garnet was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Iona Thomas Morehouse, Avis Williams, Jean Wilson and Brenda Moore.

Garnet was an avid salmon fisherman and loved to fish the Miramichi, as a member of the Mobile Sportsmen Club. He and Mary enjoyed their travel trailer as well as their travels across Canada after retirement.

He was employed for 31 years by the Federal Government, Department of National Health and Welfare, retiring in 1991.
Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
A graveside service and burial will take place at the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery at a later date.
