Passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019, Fredrick EUGENE Ryder, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his daughter Janet and her husband Richard Doran, his parents, Donald and Caroline (Howse) Ryder, other relatives in the Ryder and Whiffen families. Leaving to mourn with memories of his life, his wife of 64 years Jessie (Whiffen); one son Jeff (Barbara); one daughter Jill (Jim Ross); one beloved grandson, Matthew (Remy Rosinski)- Pop’s “buddy” whom he dearly loved; Pop’s canine pals Winston and Lily, his feline friends Ratchet and Clank. Special thanks to Dr. Susan Mercer, Miller Center, and the staff of Chancellor Park for their excellent care and kindness. Cremation has taken place. At Eugene’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 25, 2019 from Caul’s Chapel, LeMarchant Road, at 1pm. Inurnment to follow at Anglican Cemetery Forest Road. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to Heavenly Creatures Animal Shelter (www.heavenlycreatures.ca) or Rescue NL (rescuenl.com) in recognition of his love for animals.
