Frank McCready, 70

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Frank’s life here on earth on Friday, February 15, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in North Sydney on New Years Eve, 1948, Frank was the son of the late Arnold and Mary (Etheridge) McCready.
Frank loved life to the fullest, loved to have fun, tell jokes and was the best story teller. He was the life of the party. His magnetic personality attracted people and everyone that knew him, loved to be around him. He had the biggest heart and was the most positive person, despite his health issues. He was the strongest person we know.
Frank worked for DEVCO for 34 years until his retirement. Frank loved to play and watch sports, and he was a goalie and an avid Blackhawks fan! He was a musician, singer, song writer. He loved to be on the water, whether boating or scuba diving or beach combing. He loved history, trivia and reading. Kids in the community know him as coach, umpire, cub and beaver leader. Active in KOC and a Kinsmen. He was a legion member and loved to go to his weekly darts. We are heartbroken he is not here with us but know he is reunited with Paddy Jim and all his friends and family that passed on, most likely enjoying a beer.
Frank is survived by his wife Theresa, married in 1973. son Jason (Wanda), daughter Melanie (Colin) and Michael Matthews. Also surviving are his brother Mick, grandchildren Jordan, Arlen, Isabella and Andreea. nieces, nephews, and many friends. He loved his dog Mandy Culan and cat Smokey.
