Fleurette Cecile Mehta (Hamel)
March 11,1931 – January 28, 2019
Born in Montreal, PQ and passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus) on Monday, 28 January 2019. Fleurette was predeceased by her beloved husband, Captain Romesh Mehta, her brother Jean-Guy Hamel and her parents Gerard and Yvonne (Alarie) Hamel. She is survived by her brother Georges (Anita) Hamel and their family; her nephew Denis Hamel (Nicole) in Boucherville, PQ; her sister-in-law Meena Parti and her family in Ottawa, England, and India. Fleurette and Romesh were world travelers and lived in several countries abroad. Her many friends in Montreal, Ottawa, India, China, USA, Belgium and Turkey will miss her. Fleurette was employed by SNC-Lavalin in Montreal prior to coming to Ottawa where she worked as a Parliamentary Assistant for a number of years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Friends and family are invited to the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10 a.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m.
