Eva May Turner
1932-2019
Eva May Turner – 86, of Grand View Manor, Berwick,
formerly of Grafton, Kings County, passed away Saturday, February 16,
2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Black Rock,
Kings County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Laura
(Schnare) Schnare. Eva was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She
was employed in the apple industry, picking and packing apples
throughout the Annapolis Valley. Community minded, Eva was a member of
several organizations, including the Black Rock Baptist Church, the
Jolly Workers, the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary, the Women’s
Missionary Society and the Grafton Women’s Institute. She is
survived by her husband of 67 years, George Turner; a daughter, Gladys
Galley, Grafton; a son, Robert (Theresa), Grafton; two grandchildren,
Karen (Al) and Alan (Tara); three great grandchildren, Emily, Owen and
Chance. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, David Galley; a
granddaughter-in-law, Denise. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on
Friday, February 22, 2019 in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The
funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23,
2019 in the Black Rock Baptist Church, Reverend Marie McCallum
officiating. A private family burial will take place in the East Black
Rock Cemetery, Kings County. Following the burial, a reception will be
held in the Black Rock Culture and Recreation Hall. Family flowers
only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Black Rock
Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova
Scotia.
