In loving memory of Ethel Mary (O’Hare) Hickey, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 at Finlandia Village, Sudbury, Ontario. Ethel was born in North Bay, Ontario, on October 18th, 1921 to her loving parents Edward O’Hare and Florence Fraser, both predeceased. She married the love of her life, James Patrick “Jim” (Frank) Hickey (predeceased) at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto, Ontario. She was a kind and loving sister to Bertha O’Hare of Levack (predeceased), Bernice O’Connor (Jerome) of Levack (predeceased), Alma Chisholm (Frank) of Levack (predeceased), Betty Rochon of Peterborough (predeceased), Carmen Foster (predeceased)(Ken) of Peterborough, Rosemarie Stabler (Jerry) of Peterborough (predeceased), Peter O’Hare (Shirley) of Lyndhurst, stepbrother Bill Pawson (Margaret) of Stroud (predeceased) and two infant sisters (predeceased). She will be sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews and her Godchildren.
Ethel was a dedicated wife to her husband Frank. She was a devoted Roman Catholic, filled with faith and a love of God. Ethel was a member of the Little Servant Prayer Group and the Catholic Women’s League. She enjoyed time spent with crafts such as crochet, tatting, painting, and flower pressing. She loved both nature and animals.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection, and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die. And whoever lives by believing in me, will never die.” John 11:25-26.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff of Finlandia Village for the dedication, kindness, and caring extended to Ethel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Finlandia SISU Foundation would be appreciated.

Holy Redeemer Church
1887 Bancroft Drive, Sudbury
Friday, February 8th, 2019
at 10am.
Interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery.
