Obituary of Ernest Janzen
It is with grace and love that we announce that Ernie passed away in his 82nd year on February 23, 2019, from cancer.
Beloved husband of Elizabeth, much loved father of Dana (Malcolm) and Chris (Sarah), brother to John (Hazel) and excited expecting grandpa-to-be.
Ernie grew up in Jordan and attended Beamsville High School. He taught school for 35 years with the majority of years as Head of Geography at Thorold Secondary School. He then spent 12 enjoyable years as a real estate agent for Rusty Kruty/Royal LePage.
Ernie was a dedicated member of Grace Mennonite Church for more than 50 years, avid golfer at Twenty Valley Golf Club for 32 years and active exerciser at St. Catharines YMCA for 35 years. A lover of life, learning, sports and travel, Ernie found great joy spending time with all his family.
Visitation will be held at Grace Mennonite Church 677 Niagara St, St. Catharines on Friday March 8 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday March 9 at 11am at Grace Mennonite Church. Cremation has taken place.
