Ernest Meade peacefully on January 22, 2019 passed away at the Maples Care Home at the age of 84 years; with family by his side.
Ernie worked for Standard Heating and Plumbing and the Ukrainian National Home as a bartender
for many years, at the age of 50 he retired.
His hobbies included collecting coins, going to estate sales with his brother, Ken and they would spend many weekends hosting garage sales. He also enjoyed going to Breezy Point with good friends, which he made many memories. He continued to garage sale after the passing of his brother Ken, until he was diagnosed with dementia and later fought a short illness of kidney failure.
Ernest will be missed by his daughter Catherine Chartier (Bob), Grandson Micheal Van Gompel (Megan), Granddaughter Danielle Van Gompel (Chad), Brothers Dennis (Lorraine), Jim (Barb), Sisters; Irene Nichols ( Reg), Ruth Lussier (late Leo) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alvina and Irvine Meade, Brother Ken, Sister in law Lila and his dear friend Claudette.
A special thanks to the workers at the Maples Care Home with our deepest gratitude in caring for the one that we loved.
A Celebration of life will be held on Monday January 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue.
