Mrs. Ena Brown
Brown, Ena Elizabeth (Kerr) passed away peacefully on Sunday February 17th, 2019 in her 95th year at the Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham. She is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of 74 years, Charles D. Brown. Ena was born in Alvinston to the late Andrew and Agnes Kerr (Atchison). She is survived by her children Douglas (Lynn Hume) Brown, Phillip (Brenda) Brown, Lynette (Barry) Wellman, and Beverly (Susan) Brown; grandchildren Elizabeth (Steve) Corriveau, Andrew Brown, Buffy (Bernie) Baker, Mark Brown, Justin (Tara) Tricker, Ryan Tricker, Jennilyn (Mark) Matthys, Todd (Tara) Wellman, Tara (Starsky) Labonte, Brandon (Diane) Brown, Corey Brown, Kendra Brown, and 14 great grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter-in-law Shirley Brown, siblings (aka the Kissing Kerrs) Albert (Grace) Kerr, Wilbert (Margaret) Kerr, Lillian (Ernie) Dolbear, Clifford Kerr, Ernest (Florence) Kerr, Martha (Bill) Taylor, Stella (Ted) Greenwood. Survived by her sister-in-law Alberta Kerr and many nieces and nephews. Ena worked for many years as an interior decorator helping beautify people’s homes. She was a long-time member of Park Street United Church and then St. Andrew’s United Church. Ena was also a very active member of the UCW (United Church Women). Once she was no longer able to attend church, she always looked forward to her visits from the church members. Ena and Charlie were very active in volunteer work in the community. They had many hobbies over the years including boating, golfing, curling, camping and then spending their winters in Florida. A special thanks to Dr. S. Munro and all the wonderful, caring staff of the Meadow Park Nursing Home. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Saturday February 23rd, 2019 with visiting from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 pm with Pastor Greg Simpson officiating. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to take place at a later date. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent. Memorial Service: To follow at 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
