Edwin Coulson of Simcoe, Ontario
August 13, 1937 – February 1, 2019
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 1st, 2019 at Norfolk General Hospital in his 82nd year. Loving father of Soren (Jane) and Darren. Proud grandfather of Zach, Lauren (Zack) and Megan. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Jensen) in 2007, sister Marilyn, brother Doug and by several brothers in-law and sisters in-law. Survived by his sister Dorothy Kitchen, brothers Lyle, Wray, Allan and several brothers in-law and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Also survived by his special sister in-law Elspeth Smelser. Ed was a former Town of Simcoe police constable and former co-owner of Jensen’s Cheese. Ed also leaves behind an extended family at the Brantford and Welland Farmer’s Markets. Long-time member and past Master of Norfolk Lodge AF and AM #10. Ed loved spending time with his family, having coffee “at the office” with his friends, golfing, listening to Pavarotti and a good joke followed by a hearty laugh. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family. A heartfelt thanks to all staff at Norfolk General Hospital for their exceptional care. At Ed’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ferris Funeral Home, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe (519-426-1314). If so desired, donations may be made in Ed’s memory to Norfolk General Hospital or a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences at ferrisfuneral.com. A life well lived.
