Douglas Ray Parker 2019

Douglas Ray Parker
July 31, 1953 – February 3, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Doug Parker announce his sudden passing on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the age of 65.

Doug was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son and Brother. He was known by his powerful and infectious laugh that frequently accompanied his permanent smile. To have known Doug was to have enjoyed Doug.

Doug attended Doaktown High school, graduating in 1971, and earned his stationary engineering degree before joining NB Power in 1973. He held several positions in the company but most of his career was spent at Point Lepreau Generating Station as a CRO, in Training and then as the Station Manager before retiring in 2010.
Doug enjoyed his retired life and was typically working on some projects at the house (Lake George), the camp (Storeytown) or whatever project his sons, brother, or anyone else really needed help with. All while texting or torturing… playing! with his grandsons.

Born: July 31, 1953 Death: February 3, 2019

He is survived by his wife, Susan Parker (Colford), sons, Jamie (Bethanie) and Jason (Jackie), grandsons, Nick and Noah, father, Ray, brother, Darwin (Vicki) and mother-in-law, Peggy Colford. He was predeceased by his mother, Toots (Bertha O’Donnell) and father-in-law, Vincent Colford.

Visitation will be at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 6-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11am. For those who wish, remembrance may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.
