DOUGLAS FREEMAN COPP
December 31, 1943 – February 1, 2019
Passed away peacefully at home in Lindsay, Ontario. Doug was the loving husband of Penny, dear father of Steven (Carolyn) and Paul (Lora), and proud grandfather of Daniel, Sarah, Kevin, Eric, Emily, Claudia, and Brian. Doug is survived by his sister Margaret (Wayne) Coker, and sister-in-law Barbara Copp. He is predeceased by his sister Ruth Brentnell, and brother Graham Copp. Born in Cambray, Ontario, Doug inspired generations of students as a teacher at schools in North York, Durham, and Lindsay. He was also a talented musician who shared his gift as a church organist and choir director for many years. Doug will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his warmth, his generosity, and his sense of humour. His family would like to thank their many friends and neighbours for their kindness, especially over the last year. A memorial service for Doug will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in the spring. If desired, donations can be made to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church organ fund in Doug’s memory (45 Russell St. W, Lindsay, Ontario K9V 2W8).
