Donald’s Obituary
BECK, Donald Martin “Don” ~ age 80 of Torbrook Mines, NS passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late John and Rita (Roche) Beck. Don was a retired Avionics Technician after 30 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was an avid landscape painter, enjoyed woodworking, and could often be found riding his Kubota tractor. Don will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Catherine (Boyle); his children, Karen (Tom) Baker, Meadowvale; Donny (Angela) Beck, Berwick; Deanna (Scott) MacLean, Kentville; Krista Beck (Roy), Halifax; grandchildren Katie, Jordan, Brooke, Samantha, Jacob, Tyler, Jon, Angus and Benjamin; daughter-in-law Christine Beck; brother-in-law Frank Irving; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Mike; brother, Mel; sisters, Marion and Sheila. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial mass will be held 11:00AM Monday, February 4, 2019 in St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church, 41 Connaught Avenue, Middleton with Don’s grand-nephew, Father Craig Cameron officiating. Interment will be in St. Monica’s Cemetery, Middleton. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Donations in memory may be made to VON Annapolis Valley Branch or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
