It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Cora Mae Redstone which occurred at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, February 18th, 2019. Born 1921, in Havelock, NB, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Maude Redstone. Cora worked for the province of New Brunswick as Registrar of Saint John for many years before retiring in 1997. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church for 45 years where she served as a teller and a board member. Cora enjoyed playing tennis and bowling and she loved to watch curling.
Cora is survived by her nieces Melodie Bartel (Michael Pescador) of Saint John, Carol Steeves (Larry) of Hampton; great nephews Shane White (Jessica LeBlanc) of Quispamsis, Shawn White of Saint John; great nieces Shanna White (Nick Hawkins) of Saint John, Shari White (Chris Harris) of Hampton; great-great nieces Belle and Jasmine White of Victoria, BC, Aurora Gagnon of Nova Scotia, Autumn White of Saint John; great-great nephews Jayden, Colby and Nova White all of Saint John and Kalel White of Hampton. Cora was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents, Cora was predeceased by her brothers Gordon, Richard and George and sisters Marjorie and Myrtis.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, February 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at Hampton Rural Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory of Cora may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
