The passing of Clarence Avard Parker of Fredericton, NB occurred on
February 23, 2019 at White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction,
NB.
He was predeceased by his wife Eileen Parker and his parents, Charles
and Gladys Parker, also his sister Dorthy Fulford and brother Charles
Vincent Parker and sister in-laws Evelyn McLean, Jean Rowan and
Virginia Philips.
He is survived by two children, Michael Parker (Heather) and Linda
MacDonald (John), also by his brother, Earle Parker (Claire) of Ottawa
and sisters Barbara Edington of New York and Catherine Watson of
Ottawa and brother in-laws Arthur Thomas (Hèléne) and John
Thomas (Lorraine). He is also survived by his five grandchildren,
Rebecca, Bradley, Rachel, Tyler and Parker.
Clarence was born on October 27th, 1935 in Campbellton, NB. He lived
there until leaving to go to university. Clarence studied at the
University of New Brunswick and Daltech University (Halifax)
graduating with an Engineering degree. After settling in Fredericton
for the majority of his career, he later worked at and obtained a
Certified Management Accountant designation thru to his retirement.
With his love of music, as a young man he played trumpet with the
Parker Family Band. In university he played with a jazz band and later
with Fredericton Concert and Marching Band. Other hobbies through the
years included painting and writing. He also spent numerous hours
volunteering his time helping others in need.
Clarence had been devoted to his wife, taking care of her when her
health deteriorated as she had struggled for many years with numerous
health issues.
At Clarence’s request, there will be no funeral service. A
graveside service will be held in the summer at Harvey Settlement
Cemetery, NB.
