Catherine Whalen Friday February 22nd 2019

WHALEN, Catherine
It is with great sorrow that the Burke family announces the peaceful passing of Catherine Whalen, surrounded by her spouse and daughter at the Mathews House Hospice in Alliston; on February 22, 2019 at the young age of 54.
Survived by her beloved partner and soulmate Derek Bramham for 12 plus years, who were both long-term residents of Alliston. She was a loving and devoted mother to Jacob Whalen, Kendra Burke and Cassandra Burke; also survived by brothers Frank Burke, Patrick Burke, Finton Burke; sisters Linda Murphy, Mary Robert and Annette Rumbolt. She was a passionate and doting grandmother to Kensington Da Costa Silva. Catherine will be sadly missed and always loved by her many nieces and nephews, and other dear family members and friends. Catherine will be longingly missed by her loyal pets; Hachi, Terra, and Phatty. She will also be remembered by the many friends she made during her stay at the Mathews House Hospice. Many thanks to all the staff at the Mathews House Hospice for giving Catherine the care and comfort she so dearly deserved.
Catherine was proud to get back to her faith and religion in the years leading up to her passing. She was a proud parishioner of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, and a supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society.
A celebration of life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 171 in Alliston, at a later undetermined date. Once the date and time is finalized, we will reach out to extended family and friends and updates will be posted via Facebook and GoFundMe.
Arrangements entrusted to Drury Funeral Centre.
